Queen City Transportation Museum….210 South Centre….1925 romantic castle-design armory. Most of the vehicles in the museum are part of the Thrasher Carriage Collection.   Featured exhibit highlights the Queen City Hotel and Station…including a 35’x12’ mural, B&O memorabilia and an operating vintage model train layout.   Sat & Sun...10am-5pm…..Donation

The Maryland Forces...from Fort Frederick will hold a mini-encampment. Located on the Emmanuel Church grounds on Washington Street.  Military drills, question and answer periods. Free.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad….3 hour excursion trip to Frostburg and back 11:30 am Sat & Sunday.  First class and Standard service available Sat, Standard and Club Car Service on Sunday.   Fee

Regional Rail Days….Residents of Allegany, Garrett, Washington, Mineral, Somerset and Bedford Counties ride Western MD Scenic Railroad  for ½ price….Saturday and Sunday 11:30am departure for this promotion …standard coach only for regional rail days…fee (ask for RRdays rate)

Brooke Whiting House of Art…632 Washington Street…Exhibit  “It’s A Small World”, features silver baby mugs, salesman sample furniture, and children in art and literature….reduced admission …Sat 1-4pm.

Tri-State Zoological Park… Exotic animals exhibited on courthouse lawn. Petting zoo with familiar & unfamiliar species including Otis the talking Cockatoo. Fee for photos taken w/animals.

Band of Merry Gamesters….A variety of 18th century toys and games   demonstrated, including Rolling Hoops, Graces, Nine Man’s Morris, Fox & Geese, Blind Man’s Bluff, Jacobs Ladder, Cup & Balls,   Nine Pins, Shut the Box & children’s stilts, on the grounds of Emmanuel Episcopal…for young and young at heart….Free

THE ARTS BUS…Allegany Arts Council “THE ARTS BUS”, a traveling studio    with various children’s arts projects. Hosted by Cumberland Jaycess, located  in front of Kensington, Sat 10am-6pm; Sun 11am-5pm…Free.

Canal Boat Replica – “The Cumberland” – Full-sized replica canal boat built in 1976; contains mule stable, hay house and captain’s cabin – guided tours given. Sat and Sun 12:30pm-4:30pm. Donation.

Gordon-Roberts House...218 Washington Street...An 1867 Victorian Home shows life in 1800. A 19th & Early 20th Century Woman's World Exhibit features accessories for dress and the home. A selection of the museum's collection of fans, purses, and clothing will be on exhibit.  House tea served. Reduced admission. Open Sat only 10am-5pm.

C. William Gilchrist Gallery… 104 Washington Street…presents “Infrared-Four Visions” images captured with infrared photography…. Sat 1-4pm, Sun 1-4pm.  Also open, restored smoke house in garden of home – 1 of only two period brick smokehouses in Maryland.  

George Washington Headquarters…Riverside Park… Only remaining structure left of Fort Cumberland…tours inside hdqtrs by members of Cresap Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution…Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 12-5pm…Donation

McNeil’s Rangers, Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 582, Moorefield, WV…Living History Encampment at Canal Place of Civil War soldiers… Military drills, weapons fire demo, emphasis on Captain Jessie McNeill’s raid into Cumberland on 2/21/1865 and the subsequent capture of Union Generals Crook and Kelly…Free

Masonic Temple…built 1910…the interior features ceiling and wall paintings, elaborately carved ceremonial chairs, desks and altars. Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 11am-5pm….Free child identifications kits…guided tours….

Rare Vintage Movie – Free….Booth 119…about Cumberland and Frostburg when we were considered the Wild West!  Plot revolves around race between the horse and the feared steam locomotive in that race to way out west.

Arts at Canal Place…."Potpourri" by jeweler and metal worker Susan Brimo-Cox, AACP is a cooperative Gallery  located in the Shops at Canal Place…Free
